Bate Papo
The Bate Papo com Shirley TV show was created by Brazilian Journalist and Stoughton resident Shirley Nigri Farber in September 2005.
The bi-lingual (Portuguese) talk show started in Stoughton, and due to a large demand, grew to be shown in more than 30 cities towns in the state of Massachusetts through local channels. Today the show can also be seen on Comcast On Demand in almost 500 cities in the states of MA, CT, NH, ME and VT. The Bate Papo com Shirley TV show already brought to discussion important subjects for the immigrant community in Massachusetts. Guests speak in their native language - either English or Portuguese. Many local politicians and artists have participated in the show. All the interviews in the show are printed in the Bate Papo Magazine that is distributed all over the state of Massachusetts at Brazilian and Portuguese businesses. Besides hosting and producing the Bate Papo TV show, Shirley Farber is also the publisher and editor of Bate Papo Magazine and Shalom (Jewish) magazine. AIRS: Mondays at 9 p.m., Wednesdays at 4 p.m., Thursdays at 5 p.m., Saturdays at 3 p.m.
