In addition to races for selectmen, school committee and moderator, the Stoughton Town Election on Tuesday, April 4 will also feature a ballot question asking voters whether or not to ban recreational marijuana shops in Stoughton. 2ND ANNUAL ALL-SCHOOL 5TH GRADE SPELLING BEE COMING MARCH 29TH

Stoughton Media Access has teamed up again with the Stoughton Schools to organize a live spelling bee featuring students from all five of Stoughton's elementary schools - the Dawe, Gibbons, Hansen, South and West.

The 2nd Annual SMAC All-School 5th Grade Spelling Bee will be held Wednesday, March 29 at 7pm at the Stoughton High School Auditorium. The Bee will be broadcast live on Comcast 6 and Verizon 26 in Stoughton. The public is also welcome to attend and cheer on the students, free of charge.

After holding preliminary spelling contests, each school is sending four participants to the Bee, for a total of 20 students. These students will be partaking in some friendly competition, vying to become champion and win bragging rights for their school:

Dawe: Isaac Chavez, Hira Khan, Madison McDougall, Anthony Nguyen
Gibbons: Jack Barbato, Riad DaVeiga, Nazirah Fannoney, Mario Romano
Hansen: Weronika Kasperkiewicz, Hunter Malkin, Liam Pearl, Devin Ural
South: Christian Applegate, Mazie Loayza, Jack Paukner, Harrison Shane
West: Alyssa Antonino, Kyle Grant, Monalisa Khatiwada, Emilia Lada

The participants will be receiving prizes thanks to the generosity of Randolph Savings Bank, Stoughton Media Access, Daddy's Dairy, Camelot Enterprises and the Stoughton Public Schools.
